Baseball Quote of Day--Harmon Killebrew
Being the cool guy that I am, I wear a lot of vintage Hall of Fame tee shirts....lots of all-time greats, but no matter where I go, the one that I get the most response to is Harmon Killebrew. Even in upstate New York, he is still a beloved figure.
Killer was a hell of a ball player. He was as strong as most any player of his era as reflected by his six American League home run titles. He played for the Senators-Twins from 1954--1974, ending his career with the Royals in 1975. He was a 13 time all-star and 1969 MVP. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1984.http://www.harmonkillebrew.com/
Of his great power, Paul Richards said of Killebrew,
"He has enough power to hit home runs in any ballpark--including Yellowstone."
